Why do babies eat more food

Babies are growing at a very rapid pace (I am sure you can tell this from how quickly their shoe size and clothes sizes change). Therefore, their metabolism is much faster. Babies tend to eat a lot of smaller meals as well so they present an illusion of actually eating more. Due to their metabolism their body becomes hungrier, faster than older adults.

The growth stage is a vital time for consuming a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals. Fruits and vegetables contain many of these essential nutrients. As you child becomes older and is able to eat more foods make sure fruits and vegetables are a component of every meal. Check out our Healthy Cooking with Your Kids section for fun ideas with fruits and vegetables for any age.
