why should we eat 5aday?

It is now recommended that we eat more than 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Fruits and vegetables contain many nutrients needed for health, including vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals. Fruits and vegetables may help prevent weight gain and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and some forms of cancer.
